Open Source Needs Initial Hype Too

So, I’ve prepared a guide on how to create a successful early-stage open source project.

First, post it on large communities like X and Reddit no matter what.
The README must be written in detail. Refer to the READMEs of popular open source projects.
It should be exposed to as many users as possible. Due to the nature of open source, marketing tends to be welcomed. Post it anywhere you can.
The goal must be very clear. Even if it’s incomplete, having a vision like ‘we will definitely achieve this goal’ is enough.
Once you make it to GitHub trending, stars will keep increasing. Ultimately, it’s important to quickly achieve a few thousand stars in the beginning.
Vision appeal is more important than technical appeal. After all, open source is also a product.
It’s recommended not to challenge existing open source projects. If your target is developers, they love unique things.
