This Privacy Policy explains how cse.ac (the "Operator") collects, uses, stores, and protects users' personal information on the website it operates (the "Service"). Reading posts is available to everyone without signing in. Authors who write and publish posts must sign in with a Google account. Depending on how the Service is used, the following information is collected.
- All users (collected automatically): access IP address, browser type and version, access date and time, pages visited, cookies
- Author sign-in information (provided by Google when you sign in with a Google account): email address, name, profile picture
- Author profile information (entered and registered by the user): display name, handle, bio, profile image
- Information generated while using the Service: the titles, body text, and images of posts you write; published/draft status; creation and modification dates
- If you contact us by email or otherwise: your email address and any information contained in your inquiry
2. Purpose of Collection and Use
- Providing and operating the Service, and displaying content
- Author sign-in/authentication and account/profile management
- Providing author features such as writing and publishing posts
- Analyzing service usage statistics and improving quality
- Responding to user inquiries
3. Entrustment and Overseas Transfer of Personal Information
To provide the Service smoothly, the Operator entrusts the processing of personal information to the overseas providers below, and in this process personal information is transferred abroad. The transferred personal information is sent over the network at the time the Service is used, and is retained until the purpose of entrustment is achieved or the member withdraws.
- Supabase (Supabase, Inc., United States): member authentication, database, and image storage hosting
- Google (Google LLC, United States): Google account sign-in authentication (OAuth), and service usage analytics (Google Analytics)
4. Cookies and Analytics Tools
The Service uses authentication cookies to keep you signed in, and uses Google Analytics to analyze usage. Cookies are used in this process. You may refuse cookie storage through your browser settings, but in that case some features such as sign-in may be restricted. Details of Google Analytics' data processing are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Retention and Use Period
Collected personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of collection and use has been achieved. Author account and profile information is retained until the member withdraws or requests deletion, and is destroyed without delay upon request. However, where retention is required by applicable law, the information is retained for the period prescribed by that law.
6. Provision to Third Parties
The Operator does not provide users' personal information to third parties beyond the scope stated in this Policy. Exceptions apply where required by law, or where an investigative agency requests information in accordance with the procedures and methods prescribed by law for investigative purposes.
7. Rights of Users
Users may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of their personal information, as well as deletion of their account. Authors can correct their profile information directly on the settings page; other rights may be exercised through the contact below. The Operator will take the necessary measures without delay upon receiving a request.
8. Security Measures
The Operator takes reasonable technical and administrative safeguards — such as access control and encrypted transmission (HTTPS) — to prevent the loss, theft, leakage, forgery, alteration, or damage of personal information.
